Description:

Bryothamnion sp., also known as Red Razor, is an attractive, red macro algae that grows in a branching pattern. This species is generally safe with most snails, hermit crabs, shrimp, and fish, with the exception of some species of crabs (such as emerald, decorator, sponge, and arrow crabs,) urchins, sea hares and lettuce nudibranch, some species of filefish, rabbitfish (such as foxface,) large angelfish, and large tangs. Dwarf angels, bristletooth tangs, and algae blennies may also pick at this species. You should research your livestock and compatibility prior to purchasing. This species can tolerate low-high lighting, and will remove nitrates and phosphates from the aquarium. It is slightly calcified and benefits from calcium and iron supplements.
